In 2009, the David C. Driskell curated the exhibition "An American Consciousness: Robin Holder's Mid-Career Retrospective." The exhibition, curated by Dorit Yaron, Deputy Director of the David C. Driskell Center, features 65 works by New York based printmaker, Robin Holder, highlighting her approach to uniting aesthetics with sociopolitical ideas, as well as connecting personal and universal experiences. The exhibition than traveled to Spelman College Museum of Fine Art, Atlanta, GA and Mobile Museum of Art, Mobile, AL.

To support the exhibition, Robin Holder created a set of monotypes, commissioned by the David C. Driskell Center and printed by Master Printer Curlee R. Holton at the Experimental Printmaking Institute at Lafayette College, Easton PA.

A set of three horses are hung in one of the University House's upstairs rooms.

"Growing up in New York City as the child of an activist bi racial inter ethnic family, I was exposed to a world of complicated racial and ethnic conflicts and harmony. Being an African American Jewish female is automatic grounds for marginalization in this country. However, I decided that the role of victim was unacceptable. While studying at the High School of Music and Art I realized I could be creative instead of reactive. I decided art making could be a constructive vehicle of experimentation, exploration, communication and courage!."
